Many of our patients come to us wanting to straighten and enhance their smiles, but are looking for an alternative to traditional orthodontics. Invisalign® is a series of clear aligners that quickly and discreetly straighten teeth without the bulkiness of metal brackets and wires. A popular alternative among teens and adults, Invisalign is highly effective at aligning teeth due to its level of customization and predictability of treatment outcomes. Dr. Carl Medgaus has extensive cosmetic dentistry experience with over 35 years in practice and is a certified Invisalign provider. He has successfully helped many of his patients achieve their desired smile with comprehensive orthodontic treatment! Our personalized Invisalign treatment can correct any number of issues, including crowded teeth, over- and underbite, gap teeth, and open bite, making it an ideal option for many patients.
Invisalign offers patients many benefits when compared to traditional bracket-and-wire orthodontics. Perhaps one of the greatest advantages of Invisalign is the near-invisibility of the clear aligners while being worn, freeing you to continue an active, professional, or social lifestyle without unsightly metal braces hindering your smile. Invisalign aligners are also removable, allowing for an unrestricted diet, better hygiene and oral care, and the ability to whiten teeth during treatment. Our Invisalign treatment begins with a digital representation of the end result—correctly aligned teeth—from which your clear aligners are custom designed. This allows for more guided and predictable treatment that can oftentimes be measured in months instead of years!
Invisalign is a highly personalized treatment process, beginning with impressions of your teeth we take with our iTero® digital scanner that eliminates the need for putty impressions. We use these images to create a digital blueprint of how each tooth will need to move in order for you to achieve a beautiful, straight smile, along with an estimated treatment time. From the blueprint, a series of clear aligners are created that you will wear for 20-22 hours each day, only removing them to eat, brush, and floss. As you replace these aligners every two weeks, your teeth will continue to straighten into alignment as predetermined at the start of your treatment. Once your treatment is complete, you will have beautiful, straight teeth you can smile about!
